Why Coloradans get annoyed with the weather
So this weather forecast shows why the weather can be so annoying in Denver. It isn’t that it snows all the time, but that it has an amazing ability to just snow on weekends, for like weeks in a row.
The temps in the forecast below are somewhat unseasonably low, due to passage of a recent Canadian cold front. It will warm up generally and Thursday is really more typical. Given the warm sun and dry climate, folks will be out in shorts on Thursday and it will be rather comfortable.
But, notice that after sunny days all through the WORK WEEK, then light rain/snow and cooler temps come back just in time for the weekend. LOL. So typical.
An interesting thing about the local culture is that EVERYONE has a particularly vivid memory of some “extreme” snow situation. Like, “back in [inset year here], we had [insert crazy amount of snow in inches] in [insert hard to believe late spring or summer month]!”. But, the most common tale I hear is about some year where they had over 32 inches of snow on 5 or 6 consecutive weekends. Puts quite the cramp in your weekend plans. It’s mostly funny, though, because the entire area still seems to be mad about that.
Except for skiers, of course, who live to get out of town for the snow every weekend. But, those folks don’t count. 😉
